What do we do?
We in the leadership have ambitions to become fluent in the vast sea of bureaucracy that is IDI and KiD. This means that we send emails about everything from door access to begging to keep our patronage, and try to keep track of finances. We plan stands and spam Slack. We order pizza and complain about missing spots in the workshop shift schedule. This is the leadership 2024!
Who are we?
Supreme Leader: Eskild Sæther
Hi, my name is Eskild, and I'm the elected leader of Hackerspace. Before I was elected as leader, I was a member of the "Breadboard computer" project. As the leader, it is my responsibility to keep the rest of Hackerspace in line. Among other things, I have a goal to cut down on the 5+ hour board meetings that stretch towards midnight. I'm in my second year of a bachelor's degree in computer science. I love the organizational culture and the inclusive atmosphere we have in Hackerspace, which was a major reason why I chose to run for the leadership election.
Deputy Leader: Inger Luna Haukø Svihus
Greetings, this is Luna, your new deputy commander per 2024. I started Hackerspace at the end of the spring semester 2024 in DevOps, and I am still keeping up with meetings there (maybe not mentally, but at least physically most of the time). As deputy commander I’ve got responsibility for everything and nothing (but mostly nothing). I help where I can and put myself on missions I deem important (like complaining about the shift schedule and retrieving power cables). I represent Hackerspace wherever I go at the end of the month when I’m out of clothes and have to settle for the Hackerspace hoodie on wine evenings. I’m the great distractor of the workshop and hacker (of locks (well two of them at least)).
Head of Economy: Aleksandra Grunnreis Grålumstuen
Hiii, I’m known as Alex and I am now the current financial officer for Hackerspace 2024. I began as a member in Hackerspace as I started on an engineering bachelor in renewable energy fall 2022. I started as a member of Project: Game and was chosen to be the deputy leader fall 2023 and I've had that role until the general assembly 2024 took place. As the financial officer of Hackerspace, my role is to send in refunds, send in orders to IDI and pick up said orders when they arrive. I'm also the accountant of hackerspace and I generally make sure that our economy is economical.
What does leadership want to accomplish this semester?
We in the leadership are in a continuous process of figuring out how we can get more people to join this wonderful and under-prioritized organization that is Hackerspace. We aim to achieve this by continuing to maintain the fantastic environment that encourages people to want to stay in Hackerspace. We will accomplish this by organizing cool events (which, due to financial reasons, may become more frequent after the summer). As deputy leader, I recommend everyone to take the initiative to organize events, where you can send receipts to our treasurer, Alex. (And as the Head of Economy, I recommend informing me about such events first ;).) Apart from that, we're also excited about some cool projects that a few really passionate students are itching to dive into, and to show off the awesome projects that are currently in the works.
