🎮 Hackerspace Game Jam
Join Hackerspace's Gamejam where you make a game that fits a given theme in 48 hours! The goal isn't necessarily to make a polished masterpiece, but to have fun, experiment, learn something new, and finish a game.
👥 Who Can Participate?
Everyone!
Never made a game before? That's completely fine! The jam is open to everyone, from complete beginners who have never touched a game engine to experienced developers looking for a fun weekend project.
Dont have coding skills but feel like this sounds fun? Join! Game development is not only about coding, but also art, music, design, writing and much more!
You can participate alone, with friends, or join a team at the event.
🕹️ The Weekend
We're hosting a weekend-long Game Jam at Gruva. We'll be there throughout the weekend, working on games, hanging out and helping each other.
You can come and go as you want during the weekend. You don't have to stay at Gruva continuously, and you're welcome to head home, get some sleep, take a break, or come back whenever you want.
Even if you are busy the whole Saturday, come join us Friday and Sunday!
The organizers will be there from ~11:00, but you can arrive earlier (just remember your student card to open the doors)!
If you miss the theme reveal that is also 100% fine! You can arrive whenever it fits you

17:30 — Open doors
18:00 — Theme Reveal & Start
We'll kick things off with a presentation revealing the theme for the jam. Once the theme is announced, the clock starts! After that, it's time to form teams, brainstorm ideas, and start making games.
🍕 Saturday
16:00 — Pizza!
We'll take a break for some pizza together. 🍕
Apart from the pizza, we'll have snacks, fruit, and drinks available throughout the weekend to keep everyone fueled while they work.
⏰ Sunday
15:00 — Submission Deadline
All games must be finished and submitted by 15:00 on Sunday.
⚠️ Important: Please make sure you have a test build working at least two hours before the deadline. We've had problems with last-minute builds before, and discovering a broken build at 14:55 is not a fun way to end a Game Jam!
Once the deadline has passed, we'll stop development and gather everyone together to present all the games. Everyone will get a chance to see what people have created over the weekend.
🏆 There will also be awards for the best games!
You don't need to be an expert, and you don't need to know how to use a game engine. If you've ever thought "I've always wanted to try making a game", this is a great opportunity to give it a shot.
And if you're experienced, come share your knowledge, help others, and see what strange and wonderful things people come up with!
